Social Resource Program
Many students attending college face barriers to meeting their basic needs. This can impact their academic success and ability to complete their goals. Students often lack awareness of services in the community and the skills to navigate social systems to access resources, services, and programs to meet basic needs.
Montgomery College is committed to supporting students’ basic needs through the Social Resource Program (SRP), a grant-funded project through the Department of Education (Grant Award # P116N210009new window). The SRP provides students with one-on-one holistic case management and coaching facilitated by Social Resource Coaches. SRP staff foster student access to supports for basic needs in the following areas: food, housing, health coverage, medical and dental, mental health, childcare, social, educational, transportation, legal, financial and other identified needs. In addition, the SRP may provide emergency assistance to eligible students experiencing a crisis.
How to Get Started
Any currently enrolled student at Montgomery College is eligible for services from the SRP. If you are a student,complete the referral hereby selecting “I’d like to learn more about the resources available through the Student Health and Wellness (SHaW) Center for Success.” MC faculty/staff can also make a referral to the SRP by using Starfish.
