Scholars Circle

Scholars Circle is a college-wide program designed for the high-achieving student. As a member of Scholars Circle, you’ll receive special advising including schedule, scholarship, and transfer counseling. You can also participate in several special activities set up for honors students such as clubs, honors colloquia, trips to honors conferences, and theater performances.

The Scholars Program requires that participating students complete a minimum of 15 honors credits in at least three different disciplines. For example you could take honors level classes in humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Honors credits must be completed over a minimum of two semesters. Students must maintain a minimum 3.4 cumulative grade point average to remain in the program and to receive the MC Honors Program designation on their transcripts.

Students who do not enroll in Scholars Circle but wish to take honors classes must still meet Scholars Circle eligibility requirements.

Our goals are to:

• Provide intellectually stimulating courses and activities for high-achieving students
• Contribute to the student's intellectual, social, and personal growth
• Prepare students to compete and excel in challenging academic and professional environments
• Offer opportunities for personal enrichment

Students who have completed a minimum of 15 credits of MC Honors coursework in at least three different academic disciplines, and have maintained a 3.4 or higher grade point average, will receive an "MC Honors Program" notation on their Montgomery College academic transcripts.
