Faculty Support at the MC Library

Faculty Support at the MC Library

At the Montgomery College Library, we pride ourselves on partnering with faculty by offering resources and services to support educational excellence and student success. Explore the pages below to learn more.

Connect with Your Librarian

Each MC librarian specializes in academic subjects. There is a specialist librarian for each subject located on each campus. Connect with your librarian to learn more about how we can support you and your students.

Instructional Support

Our librarians are experts in providing tailored research and information literacy instruction to your classes. We can also partner with you to design assignments or use library tutorials, videos, or quizzes.

Library-Blackboard Integration

Library resources, including course materials, research guides, and tutorials, videos, and quizzes, are embedded in your Blackboard courses to help you connect students to library support and improve student information literacy skills.

Course Reserves

The library's course reserve service, embedded in your Blackboard courses, allows faculty to make course-related materials available to students, either electronically or at one of the library service desks. Examples include books, articles, textbooks, videos, and more.

Library Tutorials, Videos, and Quizzes

You can assign your students to complete online tutorials, videos, and quizzes through our website or by embedding the items in your Blackboard courses for automatic grading. Topics include academic integrity, avoiding plagiarism, citing sources, doing research, and more.

Adopt E-Textbooks for Z-Courses

The library supports college affordability by offering a service where faculty can locate and adopt a high-quality, free e-textbook or e-book for use in their course. Use our self-service database to get started. Books include e-books the library already owns, e-books the library can purchase, and OERs.
