Certified Nursing Assistant ( CNA) / Geriatric Nursing Assistant Program (GNA)

The Certified Nursing Assistant / Geriatric Nursing Assistant Programs consist of three parts. First is the mandatory orientation session (free) where you will learn about the programs, take a math and reading test, and learn about the prerequisites for the program. The second part of the program is the Classroom session where you will take classes, participate in discussions, and have the opportunity for hands-on practice. The third part of the program is the clinical where students will have an opportunity to work with real patients under the supervision of an RN. This program is offered three times a year in the Fall, Spring, and the Summer.

I. Certified Nursing Assistant Orientation Session

Prior to registering for the CNA Program, you MUST ATTEND the FREE orientation session. Students will take a math and reading test, which takes about 1.5 hours. They must pass the first exam with an 80% or better. Those who do not pass the first exam will have an opportunity to take the exams two more times. Students passing both exams will be issued a signed registration form, which they must take in person to Customer Service in order to register for the program. The corresponding CNA Classroom and CNA Clinical MUST be taken together, no substitutions. All payments for CNA Classroom and CNA Clinical and additional fees are due at time of registration. This program is eligible for the Tuition Installment Plan. Seats for the Classroom and Clinical are limited.

III. Certified Nursing Assistant Clinical

CNA Clinical provides an opportunity for students to work under the guidance of an RN to care for patients using the knowledge they have learned in the classroom.
