MC Employees Welcome Dr. Jermaine F. Williams
Montgomery College President Jermaine F. Williams received an enthusiastic welcome from College employees as he arrived at the Central Services Building this week on February 28. During his first week at the College, Dr. Williams plans to visit each campus, as well as other College offices.See the full schedule.
Dr. Williams expressed his gratitude for the welcome and shared his thoughts on the future in this excerpt from his first President’s Corner:
Thank you all for the warm welcome I have already received—even before my very first day. It is wonderful to experience, first-hand, Montgomery College’s inclusive spirit. As I begin my learning journey at the College, my partner and sons are also adjusting to a new residence and new schools. There is a lot of change in our midst, and it is exciting for all of us. I look forward to learning from new colleagues about the best places to take two very curious and independent children—who are still working out some of their pent-up pandemic energy.

FY22 Educational Assistance Program (EAP) Updates
Please visit the Educational Assistance Program(EAP) webpage重要的更新EAP, EAP旅行,Professional Development Assistance Program (PDAP for eligible part-time faculty) effective as of March 1, 2022.
As a clarification to theMarch 1 memo, employees must show proof of completion for any EAP course, seminar, conference, or workshop attended. The employee is responsible for reimbursing the College when the following are met:
- the course, seminar, conference, or workshop is dropped
- the employee receives a failing grade
- if, while on professional development or sabbatical leave, the employee fails to return to and remain at the College for the period of time specified in their applicable Professional Development Leave or Sabbatical Leave Agreement

Employee Services Council to Meet Thursday, March 3
TheEmployee Services Councilinvites the College community to the next council meeting on Thursday, March 3 at 1 p.m. via Zoom. The council provides input on behalf of all employee groups in decisions related to employment services, employee programs, and related matters, and makes recommendations to the College Council or other councils as appropriate. The meeting will feature a special topic for discussion: “MC Employee Onboarding.”Request Zoom meeting link.

Last week's open forums were well attended. Open and candid discussions about the four priority themes took place. Thoughtful suggested action items were noted. College Governance Nominations Open Through March 10
Governance nominations are now open throughMarch 10, 2022for students, faculty, staff, and administrators to serve as governance council members. If an employee is thinking about serving on a council, they are encouraged to have a conversation with their supervisor to discuss this opportunity for service and professional growth. HRSTM and OBS Offer Virtual Office Sessions to Employees on EAP Request Process in Workday
As of January 3, 2022, employees have been able to initiate theEducational Assistance Program (EAP)request process inWorkday. To support employees with this new EAP process, the Offices of Human Resources and Strategic Talent Management (HRSTM) and Business Services (OBS) have been hosting virtual office sessions this month. The next upcoming sessions are listed below:
Registerto receive the Zoom meeting invitation. Once you join the Zoom meeting, you will be placed in a waiting room and receive personal assistance on a first-come, first-served basis. Please have your prepay requisition and/or reimbursement documents (i.e., invoices, receipts) saved and ready for review and to be uploaded into Workday. As a reminder, all EAP Travel is reimbursement only and therefore not eligible for prepay. Please refer to theWorkday trainingwebsite for more information and resources.

The spring session of the New Supervisor Orientation Program begins Wednesday, March 23 at 9 a.m. The program is designed for supervisors who are new to the College, Montgomery College employees who have been recently promoted to a supervisory role, or for experienced supervisors seeking a refresher. The four morning sessions, from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. on March 23, 24, 30, and 31, will provide participants with the essential information needed to manage and lead a team at Montgomery College.
